后来,银行参与了降低商户损失的支付-托收,托收支付由于银行的参与,使得买卖双方的大部分利益得到了保障,所以目前仍然在使用托收支付。不过,托收也有不尽人意之处,因为托收也属于商业信誉,一旦货物到港后,买方因故未能去代收行付款取单据,卖方就必须自行处理货物,如果能够在当地另寻买家,则问题很好解决,如果货物是买家特别定制的,那么货物只有原路返回,卖家将损失往返运费。如果是不易保存的货物,卖家或许会血本无归。
根据托收存在的弊端,银行最终发明了信用证,以银行的信誉来保障买卖双方的利益。即银行根据买方的申请出具有条件的付款文件-信用证,以银行的信誉向卖方保证:如果卖方按照信用证的规定,准确无误的执行,并按信用证的规定提供相应的单据及其他文件,开证银行即按照约定支付卖方货款,银行仅仅关注单据,而并不过问货物的状况。因此,信用证是目前对于买卖双方都有利的支付,属于银行信誉。
另外,流程也是不同的:汇款的业务流程:
1、客户在我行开立或外币结算账户,向境外汇款人提供我行汇款路线(代理行、我行分支机构名称)、收款人名称和账号;
2、境外汇款人到银行办理汇款后,汇出行可通过我行遍布世界各地的清算银行,把款项汇入我行; 3、我行收汇后通知客户,客户按规定提交有关资料后解付入账。
4、客户按规定办理国际收支申报和核销手续,我行可为客户代理申报。
托收业务流程:①进出口方订立国际货物买卖合同
②出口人发货、制单;出口人填写托收申请书,向托收银行提出托收申请
③托收行选定代收行后,根据托收申请书的具体规定,缮制托收指示书,委托代收行代为收款
④代收行收到托收指示书和票单后进行审查以决定是否接受委托;接受委托后通知进口商并向其提示有关单据。
